According to some newly presented data from baby brand Chicco, most parents turn their kids car seats around so they can see them too early. The recommended age of doing so is two years old but there has been a growing concern of parents switching too early. Even more unfortunate is that nearly 72% of the people who have done so have family members who have noticed the mistake made and don’t say anything.
According to USA Today, numerous studies have shown that a whopping 73 percent of parents are making the move too early. The American Academy of Pediatrics states its very beneficial for children to be positioned rear facing in their car seats until at least age 2, and longer if possible
To combat this retailer Chicco has launched a new campaign and site called TurnAfter2. Parents are encouraged to share a photo of their 2- or 3-year-old "still riding rear-facing" and to use the hash tag #TurnAfter2 on social media.
